A perfect Christie’s day in Nueva Andalucia
· 5 min. read
Marbella is composed of several districts and one of the most remarkable is Nueva Andalucia. Located in the northern part of Puerto Banus, besides being a magnificent residential area, it is an area with a life of its own, with personality.
Jordina Ibarz, Marketing Executive of Christie’s International Real Estate – Costa del Sol, suggests spending a great Saturday in Nueva Andalucia.
According to Jordina, “Christie’s Perfect Day” should include good food, sport, outdoor fun, exclusive shopping and a chic touch. If you want to discover all that Nueva Andalucia has to offer to enjoy a high-quality lifestyle, follow her recommendations.
In the morning, every Saturday, you have an appointment at the Nueva Andalucia street market
This neighbourhood is self-sufficient thanks to the stores of all kinds that operate in its territory throughout the year. On the other hand, it is just a step away from the marina of Banus and its fabulous big brand boutiques. It is also really close to the El Corte Ingles shopping centre and the Marina Banus Mall, where they sell a wide variety of products. As you can see, there is a whole universe of shopping in and around Nueva Andalucia. However, a really unique shopping element, which is worth experiencing, is its street market on Saturday mornings.
The Nueva Andalucia street market is one of the oldest and most special of the Costa del Sol. As well as food or clothing and accessories, this colourful market hosts art and crafts. It has an area dedicated to the sale of paintings and numerous stalls where the sellers have been the authors of the pieces on display. Beautiful baskets, fans, jewellery and costume jewellery, for example, delight lovers of the “handmade”.
Between stalls, you can take a break at Paisana and have a coffee.
We recommend going to this lovely place that offers refreshing ideas. If you are a coffee lover this is your place, and if you want to energise yourself with a smoothie or a fresh fruit juice, don’t miss it either. If you are in the mood for brunch or a snack, this place also makes it easy. It is located in one of the most popular shopping centres in the area, Centro Plaza, and has three points in its favour: it specialises in vegan food, has a large terrace and allows pets.
At midday, don’t miss lunch at the Magna Café restaurant and its beautiful views.
This restaurant is always a safe bet. Its menu is very well cared for, from drinks to desserts. It is important to make a reservation because it has many loyal diners who come frequently to its lounge and terrace. The atmosphere is exclusive but you can dress casually because it is always full of golfers. On a clear day, its views reach Gibraltar and Morocco. Of course you can also see the beautiful sea of Marbella and its well-kept golf course.
Add on an afternoon of golf in the Golf Valley.
At Magna, you can extend your afternoon with a few strokes on the driving range. Although you can also choose other neighbouring courses to play for a while and do a round of golf. The closest would be Los Naranjos Golf or Las Brisas but, in fact, the area is full of great golf courses. Nueva Andalucia and nearby Benahavis provide an incredible amount of golfing options in a relatively small territory. That is why the area is known as the “Golf Valley”. In fact, this part of the Costa del Sol is one of the favourite places of residence for golf lovers.
Finally, dinner in Puerto Banus and a stroll along the sea.
Nueva Andalucia and Puerto Banus are very well connected. Both are very international. Puerto Banus is the more touristy, leisure, sailing, art, chic shopping, drinks and casual atmosphere. While Nueva Andalucia is a set of urbanisations, villas and apartments quiet and landscaped. Nueva Andalucia has a network of well-communicated streets and its own services, but it is focused on a relaxed, familiar and safe life, without the hustle and bustle of tourism.
Of course, it is great that just a few minutes’ drive away you can enjoy the bubbling Puerto Banus. A mythical place, known worldwide. That is where we propose to end a “Christie’s Perfect Day”. The evening wouldn’t be complete without the cosmopolitan aura of the yachts and the attractive shop windows of Banus.
After a stroll through the marina, which resembles the beautiful streets of an Andalucian village, it would be nice to try one of its restaurants. If you go with the family, the best option is the Pizzeria Picasso and then make room for a crepe at La Crêperie.
Finally you can walk along the wonderful promenade of Marbella and breathe in the sea air
We hope you liked Jordina’s proposal of a “Christie’s Perfect Day” in Nueva Andalucia and we encourage you to experience it.
